There's a scene in the movie Nuovo cinema Paradiso where the main character (Toto) walks through the streets of his town just after midnight on New Year's Eve, while people are throwing bottles from their windows. It looks like utter chaos. The scene in Salerno after midnight wasn't quite as chaotic (as Alfredo said to Toto,"Life isn't like in the movies"), but I still wouldn't want to be on the streets while people were celebrating...
