Has it been that long?

Just saw that it's been a couple of weeks since my last post! Amazing how time flies. This weekend I celebrated my 35th birthday. There's definitely no doubt I'm now in my mid-30s. Sere came in from London for the weekend (what a jet-setter!), joined me for a non-stop 48h celebration (OK, there were some rest breaks - I'm 35 after all), and just left to go back to the other side of the Atlantic.

Without wanting to get too nostalgic, I was thinking about what's different at 35. Not much, actually. I'm still renting, have no kids, get a bad hangover when I drink too much, need 8 hours of sleep to feel 100% the next day, and never feel like there's enough time to do everything I'd like to get done.

Funny thing is, I have a very solid memory of my parents when they were my age - and they were OLD! I suppose having 3 children will alter the lifestyle a bit, no matter what age you are.

Your parents may have looked old to you...but actually it's funny how having kids makes you go back and become a child again, at least inside! Glad you had fun..and welcome to the 35 club :)

I cannot believe you thought you wonderful youthful father was old at 35. Why I am sure he finds this kind of thought indicative of a misspent childhood.

Your father

Just remember that since people live longer, many to 100+, middle age is now 50.
